His Song Ministries ~ Membership Policy & Procedure

POLICY:

Persons expressing interest in becoming participant in the ministry of His Song as stated here will be considered through a process of regular interaction and mutual evaluation to determine if their interest and ability are compatible with the expectations and requirements of His Song Ministries. A candidate's request for membership requires completion of the New Member Induction process and unanimous approval of current members.

PROCEDURE:

Initial Contact His Song will:
   Inform candidate of the following General Membership Criteria
        ~ Born again Christ-follower
       ~ Able to sing designated part and blend voice to ensemble sound
       ~ Able to commit significant time to rehearsals and engagements; Up to six, 2-hour, events per month
       ~ Willing to travel to events at own expense
       ~ Willing to participate in equipment set-up and tear-down
       ~ Willing to invest in uniform attire if accepted

   Inform candidate of His Song New Member Induction procedure
       Up to a 3-month process to determine mutual compatibility

New Member Induction
   First Month, Candidate will:
       ~ Share verbally
            – Who I am
           – Why I am interested in being part of His Song

       ~ Prepare and Share (verbally) with the current members
           – My Statement of Faith
           – My Resume of Ensemble singing experience (choir, chorus, quartet, etc.}

       ~ Attend 75-80% of Rehearsals and Scheduled Engagements
            – Sing along in Rehearsals
           – Observe performance, equipment set-up and tear-down process at Engagements
           – Evaluate if still personally interested

   Second Month, Candidate will:
       ~ Participate in audition with “Music Coordinator(s)”

       ~ Attend 75-80% of Rehearsals and Scheduled Engagements
           – Sing along in rehearsals
           – Observe performance at Engagements
           – Assist with set-up, and tear-down process
           – Evaluate if still personally interested

       ~ Assess the level of his wife's (if applicable) support for his continued involvement

       ~ Determine interest in, and commitment to the ministry of His Song

~ If interested in, and committed to the ministry of His Song, request membership

Third Month (if needed) Candidate will:
Continue participation and evaluation as in second month.

New Member Acceptance
   Requests for membership will be considered at a duly called meeting of current members

   Current members of His Song will cast anonymous ballots
       To accept the candidate into membership; YES
       To deny the candidate membership; NO
           (Membership requires a unanimous YES vote)

His Song President will notify Candidate of the ballot results
