Bob Bishopp

Bob-240x300.jpgBob Bishopp inherited his love of music from his mother. Although he has never had any formal training in vocal music, he began playing the trombone in the fourth grade and continued in band and orchestra through his high school years. Prior to joining His Song several years ago, Bob sang with various church choirs and vocal ensembles. Bob and his wife of 40+ years, Meg, both graduates of Washington State University, moved to Spokane in 1980 in order for Bob to continue his career with Northwestern Mutual as a Wealth Management Advisor. Bob currently serves as President of the Innovia Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a co-founder and former Board Chairman of Genesis Institute. They have four children and eight grandchildren. They enjoy golf, travel and attending WSU athletic events. Joel DeVries

Joel-240x300.jpgJoel DeVries has been with His Song since 2002. He sings baritone and feels blessed to be part of a Christian men’s singing group. Joel has sung in school choirs and performing groups, as well as many church choirs. His Song has provided him with a means to share his gift of singing with many different people, from all walks of life. It has given him a group of men to pray and worship with on a weekly basis. Joel says, “It is wonderful to meet fellow Christians who know the great Christian songs we sing, and share through word and song the saving grace of Jesus Christ”. Joel enjoys worshiping with his wife at a local church here in Spokane. Joel recently sold his office products business and retired at the end of 2015. He serves on the board of Youth for Christ here in Spokane. God’s favor has certainly been evident in Joel’s life in many ways! Joel loves God and loves building relationships with people.

Kurt Beilstein

Kurt-240x300.jpgKurt joined the His Song group in 2014 after the group sang at his church for a Sunday service.  Kurt said that at the end of the service: “This is my music, and these are my people”.  Kurt asked if there were any openings in the group, and there was, in the baritone section.  Kurt started singing with His Song that very next day.

Kurt is the son of a violinist and singer, who began singing in church choirs when he was a teenager.  After many years, and many miles, Kurt ended up in the Spokane area, God’s Country.

I am blessed to be a part of a Men’s group that not only sings, but holds each other up in prayer and accountability.

Mark Stiltz

Mark-240x300.jpgMark Stiltz sings bass, and is a founding member of the group since its formation in 1999. Music ministry has always been a part of Mark’s walk with the Lord.
Along with church choirs and worship teams, Mark also performed with the men’s group “Hymns of Faith” in the late 1980’s.  His Song is a vital part in his relationship with the Lord Jesus. Says Mark, “When singing, I often feel like I’m am right in the very presence of God, expressing my love for Him through the song”. Mark  has also written two songs for the group, one of which,” Glory Hallelujah To God” was the title song to the Group’s first CD. Mark and his wife Terri have been married for 27 years and have three adult children.

Ron Van Dyke

RonV-240x300.jpgRon VanDyke began singing as many have, in church choirs and school choirs.  He continued singing by joining an area men’s quartet and a double quartet as well as several musicals in high school.  In college He sang in choirs and various vocal ensembles and continued to sing in musical stage productions.
His ongoing enthusiasm of singing has consistently come from sacred choral music in the church.  The hymns, the worship music, and the solo expressions through songs proclaiming and glorifying God, have been a real musical joy throughout his life.

Scott Bassett

Scott-240x300.jpgScott joined His Song in March 2018, singing high tenor with Tim Kenegy and Ron Steele. Scott began singing in a church choir at the age of 15. Both he and his wife, Tammy, have been involved with Christian music as a couple for many years – it is how they worship the Lord. Their longest running gig was shepherding “the children’s music” for about 12 years at Aududon Park United Methodist. Tammy was the “improv” pianist and Scott, as song leader, provided comic relief. Currently, Scott and Tammy sing in the choir at Northwood Presbyterian, where they also play in an English Handbell Choir and Quartet. Additionally, Scott serves as co-leader of the Praise Team, and sings solos occasionally for weddings and funerals. Like all the members, Tammy joins the other wives in supporting the men of His Song with their grace. May we be a blessing to your journey.
